My toastmasters journey started in August 2014. I was referred to toastmasters by a mentor when I expressed a desire to improve my public speaking skills. I've been a member of Canning Vale Toastmasters since September 2023, Over time, I’ve stayed motivated by the progress I've seen in my public speaking and leadership skills, as well as the sense of community within the club. My favourite part of Canning Vale Toastmasters is hearing unique stories from people in your community. The club is so diverse in ages, backgrounds, professions and skills that you learn something new each and every meeting. My other favourite part is how quickly you see yourself and others improve; even if you don’t speak at a meeting, you still learn how to improve by watching others and listening to evaluations.
