It was 6.25pm, Tuesday, CVTM meeting 306. Walked into the meeting room filled with animals, clowns, dancing girls and a superb Ring Master, and my first thought was.. I didn’t know there was a theme for the meeting, neither did everyone else except our Toastmaster Ringmaster, Elena!
John C. & Ringmaster, Elena.
Ha HA, it was an impromptu dress up meeting! At the meeting, there was a dressing table where everyone gets to pick a couple of accessories to wear for the circus theme meeting. There were also popcorns for everyone to munch on throughout the meeting.
Our Table Topics master John Palmer threw us some challenging table topics – Robyn being the camera at the Grand Canyon, John C as the mirror in the ladies change room, Fiona as a Taxi in London, Mark with dressing options to impress the boss, and Huili as the refillable wine bottle.
If you were to imagine yourself as these objects, what would you come up with in a 90 seconds speech?
Mark in his colourful suit.
Another highlight for the evening is the project speeches! We have Anne sharing with us the type of risk factors in our daily life that affect our health and she reminded us to make conscious decision. Michele told us about the important people behind the success of CVTM, one of them is our club president Robyn – a gift to our club and our lives.
Peter Law, the bricklayer.
Lastly, Peter Law also visited our meeting to tell us that “The World needs more Bricklayers” and blown us away with the quality speech that he will be presenting at the International Convention in August. Even the recommendation given by some of the members were quite impressive.
Area Governor, Colin Hughes, introduced himself to CVTM.
Our Area Governor, Colin Hughes, was also present at the meeting and enjoyed the circus fun! He gave a short introduction about himself which is very motivative for the members.
We wish Peter all the best at the International Convention at Kuala Lumpur next month! And I really appreciate Elena’s thoughtful effort for making Meeting 306 fun and memorable for everyone!
