Testimonials

My toastmasters journey started in August 2014. I was referred to toastmasters by a mentor when I expressed a desire to improve my public speaking skills. I was always confident talking to people but when standing up in front of a crowd I would always blank on what I was meant to say. I always had to have a sheet of notes and a bundle of nerves. 10 years later, having been a consistent member of Canning Vale toastmasters, I feel I’ve progressed immensely in public speaking, in my leadership growth and capacity to give feedback.

I love the time (every minute) I've spent at Toastmasters and it has been of HUGE benefit to me both at work and in my personal life.

I've been a member of Canning Vale Toastmasters since September 2023, Over time, I’ve stayed motivated by the progress I've seen in my public speaking and leadership skills, as well as the sense of community within the club. The club has had a big impact on my life. In my personal life, I’ve become more confident in social interactions, while in my professional life, I’ve learned how to express ideas more clearly and effectively. It's also helped me build stronger friendships through better communication. I hope to continue improving my public speaking and leadership skills. My goal is to be more confident and give more speeches, mentor others.

I have been a member of the Canning Vale Toastmasters club for about a year. This club has many good and supportive people and also a good vibe. That's why I stay. I would like to think that after a year, I have become a better speaker, and a better person who is able to put my thoughts into words.

My favourite part of Canning Vale Toastmasters is hearing unique stories from people in your community. The club is so diverse in ages, backgrounds, professions and skills that you learn something new each and every meeting. My other favourite part is how quickly you see yourself and others improve; even if you don’t speak at a meeting, you still learn how to improve by watching others and listening to evaluations.
