CCC

Happy 300th (CCC in latin) Meeting!

Mick, Mike, Billy & Jean

Our 300th meeting is filled with new and old CVTM members and guests. Our special guests for the evening are the Toastmasters from Mandjar Club who helped up at the D17 Convention, particularly in the Super Hero night on Saturday.

Our special guests from Mandjar.

Table-Topics Master.

Throughout the meeting, Toastmaster Mark has kept us informed about the club’s history, and speech debut details of each speaker for the evening. According to John, 6 years + 86 days just ZOOoooM-ed passed and here we are, celebrating our 300th meeting. Vanessa, our table topic master, selected some questions that are related to celebrating an event. We have had Lisa, Joan and Wonderwoman Sonjar from Mandjar, Krystal from Willetton and our member Steve were invited to the stage to tackle the Table topic questions. Verdine who always give us nothing but joy, reminds us that life begins when you step out of your comfort zone.

(Left to right) Billy Griffiths, Mick Turner, Jean Boladeras & Mike Palmer delivered speeches during the 300th meeting.

Billy Griffiths returned and told us that he will greet this day with love in his heart, and that’s one of the secret ingredient to success in life. Mick Turner dug up his good ol’ “Toasties” memory and told us why he was here. Jean Boladeras expressed her gratitude to the founder of Toastmasters, Ralph, and told us her TM journey + why Peter is never a chartered member. Because of Ralph, we are here at CVTM, meeting every week on Tuesday. Club President Mike told us how his sword making passion motivates him to join TM, serving as CVTM president because of Dennis‘ Table Topic question from last year, and his motivation has been driven by us.

From this meeting, we have certainly learned that:

  1. Charter members are the first 20 members who join the club, which is why Peter is not.
  2. To have an attitude of gratitude.
  3. Embrace all faces of life. Like they said, life is full of challenge. So don’t let the challenge beat your life.
  4. Even though all of us may not share the same memories at Toastmasters, we all joined Toastmasters for the same reason.

A night filled with valuable memories and shared experiences. We will probably be seeing a meeting like this in our next 50th. Do you also know, meeting 300th was started and ended by our first and second member – the power couple – Robyn and Mark; and of course closed by President Mike.

Foods to celebrate this milestone.

Lastly…

Huili’s thoughts on Toastmaster of the year 2013/14

Same time last year, TMOTY 12/13 goes to Emma. I saw the TMOTY trophy and thought to myself that it would definitely be awesome to have my name on this, but I also knew that it was just a dream to fantasize about. Throughout the year, I have gradually get to know the people in this club, learn from the speeches and being motivated to grab the opportunities.. and even step up to be the VPPR! Great experiences.

Once again, Thank You for voting me as your TMOTY 13/14. I couldn’t have done it without the wonderful people in CVTM: the ones who contributed in the CVTM newsletters and PPP, the ones who help me with the web news updates, the ones who always motivating all of us to take on the opportunities and think positively. You know who you are.

To many of you who are still doubting yourself, if I can do it, so can you!
