What happened in June?

G’day everyone!

I hope you are embracing the winter chill just like our Toastmasters meeting despite the cold stormy nights. June might have been a busy period for some of you, and on this last day of financial year 2013/14, I would like to share with you some key highlights in June.

In Meeting #301, CVTM held a club officer election for the New Year. Let’s welcome our new officers who will be starting their new adventure at CVTM (officially from tomorrow onwards!):

Club President – Robyn
VPE – Mark
VPM – Steve
VPPR – Vivian
Treasurer – Elena
Secretary – Ming
SAA – Dennis

Our new committee (left to right): Vivian, Steve, Dennis, Robyn, Mark and Ming. (Elena absent)

I am sure our new officers will do an awesome job! 🙂

In Meeting #302, our Toastmaster Ronnie introduced a new word at the meeting – discombobulate, which means “To throw into a state of confusion”. It’s always fun to learn and add a new word to our vocabulary. Next time if you are the grammarian, don’t hesitate to bring in good word to the meeting!

Last Saturday, we were invited to Annual Paddock Party at John & Phyll’s farm to celebrate the end of year 13/14 with bar-b-que & warm up the winter with bonfire.

It was a nice day at the farm with perfect sunny blue sky. Great day to get out of the house and enjoy the bar-b whilst catching up with the fellow toastmasters! Thank you to John & Phyll for having us and everyone who brought foods in! They were indeed very yummy!

Josh brought his ‘toy’ copter which caught everyone’s attention.

That’s a little short summary of June’s highlights at CVTM. I hope everyone are staying warm and cozy this winter. To some of our Toastmasters who got stuck at home with medications, get well soon! And to some of our Toastmasters who are (or will be) oversea holidaying or visiting home, enjoy your trip and come back with lots of tales. To the rest of you, hope to see you tomorrow for the first meeting of year 14/15! Remember to bring your CL and CC manuals!

And stay tune for the May/June newsletter (last one from me). 🙂

P.S: To new members, have a read Newsletter Mar 2014 to get the best out of your TM journey.
