Post D17 Convention 2014 & Meeting 299

During the past few weeks, we have been busy with Powering up on the Peninsula. Just as the post-convention syndrome fades (or has it?), we will be having our 300th meeting in 2 days’ time!

Despite spending one day at the convention, I have learnt alot of things about leadership and controlling nerves. And I think the best way of sharing the experiences at convention will be through photos. Not only that, our recent meetings were exciting because..

If you have attended these events, you would have met Olivia Schofield and Wodwik Bear in real life:

Australian cricketer Brad Hogg was at the convention on Sunday too!

And if you are interested to find out what the Toastmasters (in the photo on the right) are doing with the cork, talk to Mark/Emma to order the convention DVD.

Doesn’t the SAA cape looks stunning! And this year, once again, Canning Vale won the Balang Award for having the most members at the convention! All because of our 25 CVTM-ers! 🙂

Fashionista Vanessa at the convention, in charge of the helpdesk and also speak in front of 120+ Toastmasters!

And CVTM crew transformed…

Thoughts from Mike about the convention:
Mark, Emma and Robyn were outstanding putting together a most memorable convention. John and Phyll worked so hard behind the scenes which enabling this great event to take place. The rest of the Canning Vale Convention Committee did a marvelous job with the smooth running of the Registration desk, security, information desk and generally running around in support of the 120 plus delegates.

The speakers were amazing giving so much of themselves particularly Olivia Schofield. Olivia gave a Key Note speech, Educational Workshop and a Master Class. On top of that throughout the weekend she gave individual feedback to so many speakers who found themselves presenting on stage.

2 days after the convention, we had our meeting as usual. Meeting 299.

We welcomed our new member Vivian, listen to Ronnie‘s adventurous holiday, Verdine‘s lecture on sustainability and our future, Maksud informed us about the federal budget, and Lionel warned us to always always ALWAYS wear a mask. Our evening ended with a group picture with Olivia and Wodwik.

Lastly, a mini Wodwik Bear from Olivia. I love the inspirational message on the card.

Thank you Olivia! Hope you have enjoyed your stay in Perth 🙂
