The Evaluation contest held on the 2nd March 2010 was a closely contested event with 6 participants, of which 4 were first timers. Geoff Schulz from newly formed club CSBP was the test speaker and gave his speech entitled “Blowing Bubbles” which was all about his scuba diving adventures. Each evaluator gave Geoff some encouragement and some key points to improve his speech.
The contestants, pictured here with contest chair Jenny Ramshaw, are Jay Mc Sweeney, Mike Palmer, Diana Veitch, Nilakshi Jayasekera, Dave Clarke and Jean Boladeras.
The winner was Mike Palmer seen here with W16 Area Governor, Robyn Richards. Second place went to Diana Veitch and third place to Jean Boladeras. Here they are with test speaker Geoff Schulz from CSBP Toastmasters.
Mike will now represent Canning vale in both the Evaluation & International contests at the Area Final in 2 weeks time. Good luck Mike.
