On 7th Oct 2008 CVTM hosted the W16 Area final for Table Topics and Humorous speech contests. The night was a memorable one with some fantastic performances from all contestants.
Table Topics was first, with the Topic ” Australia is known as the lucky country. Is this statement still true today?”. The winner, who will proceed to the Division final, was Valda Ross from Foothills and our own Diana Veitch took 2nd place. Here Valda and Diana receive their awards from Western Division Governor, Ross Wilkinson and W16 Area Gov Sarah Duxbury.
The Humorous Speech contest followed a sumptuous supper provided by the CVTM members. It was laughs all round with the winner, a very popular, Mike Palmer from Canning Vale and 2nd going to Reg Millett from Successful.
Our congratulations go to Mike and Diana for sensational performances in the Area contests and we wish Mike all the best for the Division Final on 1st November at the Fremantle Bowling Club.
