Tuesday 26th Aug was CVTMs first club contest night.
There were 5 contestants for the Humorous contest.
Billy Griffiths, Colin Sears, Peter Jordan, Diana Veitch and Mike Palmer.
All 5 speeches had us rolling in the aisles. 3rd place went to Billy Griffiths with his tale about his time as a taxi driver. 2nd place went to Diana Veitch with a story of her bathing exploits in the bush. And the winner was Mike palmer with his adventures in the City to Surf fun run.
Here Mike accepts his award from Chief Judge Sarah Duxbury and Western Div Gov Ross Wilkinson.
In the Table Topics contest there were 6 contestants.
Michael Geisler, Mick Turner, Mike Palmer, Diana Veitch, James Abrahams and Billy Griffiths who each had to reply to the topic “I Wish I Had…….”
Everyone gave an outstanding answer, with 3rd place going to Mike Palmer, not wishing for anything as he has it all now. 2nd place to Billy Griffiths wishing for a cure for Juvenile Diabetes. And the winner was Diana Veitch with her reply being, she wish she hadn’t opened her big mouth.
Diana accepts her award from Area Gov Sarah and Div Gov Ross.
First time Contest Chair for the Table Topics was President, Robyn Richards, who did an outstanding job.
A huge crowd was on hand to watch the contests with many guests from other clubs and 2 visitors.
Our winners will progress to the Area Final on Oct 7th at the same venue. Good Luck to you both we know you will make CVTM proud.
