The Birth of Canning Vale Toastmasters

Canning Vale Toastmasters Club held a Demonstration Meeting on the 11th March 2008 at the Canning Vale College in Dumbarton Rd, Canning Vale. The night was a huge success with over 60 people in attendance. Many joined on the night, by the 1st meeting a week later the club had reached 20 members and chartered that very night. A committee was formed with many willing members jostling for officer roles, and the rest they say is history. Canning Vale Toastmasters was born. The Sponsors for the club were Mark & Robyn Richards. The Mentors for the club were Steve Barry & Ross Wilkinson. The new committee members were, President -Robyn Richards VPE – Mark Richards VPM – Billy Griffiths VPPR – Diana Veitch Treasurer – Mick Turner Secretary – Jenny Ramshaw SAA – Michael Geisler.

Charter Dinner

On Friday 20th June, CVTM club was officially chartered. 30 members and guests were entertained with speeches and official ceremonies.

Speechcraft 2008

Canning Vale toastmasters members were very busy during the months of July/Aug/Sept helping to run Speechcraft courses for Australia Post. The courses were very successful helping not only the speechcrafters themselves, but also our members gaining much experience on how to run and present such courses.

Christmas Meeting 2008

CVTMs Christmas meeting was a fun and festive event. All members had a great night and even Santa came along for a visit to distribute presents to all the good members. Here Billy sings White Christmas while Santa and Robyn look on.

A fun night was had by all and we can’t wait for the next instalment.
